Our Membership

Under By-Law No.1 of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Hotel and Tourism Association, the following definitions on Membership apply:

Accommodation Member

Facilities and related services including Resorts, Hotels, Apartments, Guest Houses, Bed & Breakfasts, Inns, Lodges, Cottages, Cabanas, Villas offering accommodation to paying guests:

Apartments

A building that comprises of accommodation, kitchen, grounds and washroom facilities in a home-type environment.

Bed and Breakfast

An establishment designed as a single-family residence providing breakfast with costs included as part of the overnight room rate. Host is usually available to eat with guest. Premises shall contain a minimum of two separate rentable rooms and may have shared bathrooms.

Cabana/Cottage

A self–contained unit that provides accommodation for persons who wish to rent for a fixed period of time.

Hotel

Establishment with reception services and additional facilities where accommodation, food, and beverage are available. The services and facilities shall include but not be limited to laundry and ironing services, and in-room telephone and internet services.

Guesthouse

An establishment with no less than three separate rooms, each offering accommodation.

Inn

Central services building containing food and beverage facilities and several rooms or suites supplemented by one or more separate accommodation buildings and ancillary food and beverage areas.

Lodge

An establishment located in a special interest area, such as a forested area with food and beverage service.

Resort

Building designed to house rooms, food and beverage outlets. A resort is a full service lodging facility that provides access to or offers a range of amenities and recreation facilities to emphasize a leisure experience.

Villa

A detached or semi-detached dwelling house that provides accommodation and full amenities for rental. Housekeeping services are provided, while other services such as chef services may be provided.

Allied Member

Any business providing goods or services directly, indirectly or otherwise engaged in the tourism industry in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines other than that of accommodation:

Membership Eligibility

Under By-Law No.1 of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Hotel and Tourism Association, the following defines Membership Eligibility: Applications for membership shall be made to the Chief Executive Officer on forms prescribed by the Board Members from time to time and shall be supported by such evidence as may be required. Admission to membership of all prospective members shall be determined by the members. Membership will be vested in the applicant, and in the case of a partnership, corporation or other legal entity, such member shall act through the individual designated in writing to the Association as its representative.
